Seeing as how we're all stuck at home...

2020: Two years since my last entry - The 'rona rages, and I'm stuck at home.  This should be a time to start knocking out projects, instead I find myself adding to the lead pile. Months ago, I completed a Home Office/Hobby Room and things were working out great; but due to social distancing and my job recently going remote, work and hobby time are happening in the same place and sometimes it's a little too much to bear.  I still want to stay motivated, hence a reboot of this blog (and new URL) for those days when I would prefer to stay out of that room altogether.

Up until now, I've been coping by buying more boxes of minis. I already have plenty to work on, but I feel like, I've needed more than usual - a lot more! Some people are hoarding toilet paper, I'm hoarding minis! Social Distancing amidst the Covid-19 outbreak is supposed to be a time to work through those projects, but I suspect many a Wargamer finds themselves in circumstances similar to mine. After all, we don't want to run out of projects, nor do we want to risk painting that last mini...

Although I intend to resume documenting my journey into wargaming, it would be impossible to do so in a chonological manner at this point. I'm a bit of a wargames butterfly (if my words havent already given that away), with too many projects already on my plate, and even more that are lying in wait for a weak moment close to pay day. Going forward, I intend to document my current projects, and then provide occasional updates on my progress.

My current projects are as follows:

  • American War of Independence (Sharp Practice, Black Powder)
  • Age of Sail (Black Seas)
  • American Civil War (Sharp Practice, Black Powder)
  • Republican Rome (Hail Caesar)
  • Early Imperial Rome (Infamy, Infamy)
  • (I'll just leave a placeholder for Middle Imperial Romans....)
  • Late Rome (Dux Britanniarum)
  • English Civil War (Pike & Shotte)
  • Feudal Japan (Test of Honour)
  • Star Wars Imperial Assault
  • Miscellaneous Terrain Pieces
Mind you, this list does involve painting two armies for each project since Historicals aren't generally played in my area, and my once promising younger brother would rather stay at home watching reality TV with his girlfriend (I hope you see this post someday!).

I'll start introducing these projects in my future posts, but for now, I'll leave you with a glimpse of chaos (and craft store paints):
Bless this mess...
